Implant Supported Dentures

Dental Implants can be used to support cosmetic dentures so that the dentures do not move around or feel loose in the mouth. The dental treatment required is very simple and provides tremendous benefit to the patient both in terms of comfort and fit.

When the problem of a moving denture is quite serious due to very little bone in the lower jaw, two dental implants can be placed in the front of the mouth and studs used to hold a cosmetic denture in place. In the upper jaw four implants are more commonly placed because of the softer bone. In the majority of patient cases the dental implants are splinted together to provide even greater denture stability.

Sometimes the old denture can be used as long as it is otherwise satisfactory. This however, does not give you an opportunity to design a smile or make any changes for the better.
